Community Services is a agency related to the General Board of Global
Ministries of the United Methodist Church. Our mission is to
"help people help themselves."
How Long in Operation:
Wesley House Community Services was founded in 1903 by the Women’s Board
of City Missions of the Methodist Episcopal Church South, of the City of
Louisville.
Programs Offered:
Wesley House’s
programs are designed to meet the needs of the community served. These
programs are Early Childhood Education, Youth and Family Services,
Computer Education, Volunteer Income Site, partnership with Jefferson
County Public Schools to offer GED training and English as a Second
Language and the Wesley Wear House.
Service Area: Wesley House
Community Services serves the the Metro Louisville Community and targets,
Lynnview, Okalona and Newburg. Historically Wesley House served the
Butchertown and Phoenix Hill neighborhoods.
Staff: Wesley House
Community Services employs 14- full-time and part-time staff. More than 150
volunteers help at Wesley House annually.
